The transformation of Aladdin into Planet Hollywood is one step closer to its conclusion. Mike Dean, CEO of MJ Dean Construction, said that the basic work is done.
They are now waiting for some permits to be approved and working on the design of new developments. “We have already finished the key elements of the transformation,” said Robert Earl, Co-Director of Aladdin and owner of OpBiz.

16 new Casinos in the UK

Singapore-listed BIL International Ltd, a company controlled by billionaire Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan, has been given the nod to operate 16 casinos in the United Kingdom (UK) — marking its foray into the gaming business.

BIL Gaming Operations UK Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of BIL International, has been approved by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain to be a licensed operator of casinos under the Gaming Act 1968.

UK Casino boss murdered

One of Britain's most influential gaming figures has been murdered at his luxury flat in Leeds city centre. Barry DeLacy, 62, died in spite of efforts by paramedics after he was found with multiple stab wounds at his £500,000 first-floor flat in York Place, Leeds.

A 27-year-old man – understood to be not from Leeds – was arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery on Friday night.

Gaming group Stanley Leisure said today the number of people attending its casinos outside London had jumped by more than 15% since laws requiring gamblers to be members for 24 hours before attending venues were scrapped.

The announcement came as the company reported a 9% dip in pre-tax profits to £22.2m (€32.2m) for the six months to the end of October.
